It all started with a simple sticker that shared three powerful words, slow yourself down.
When we traveled the world with our family in 2011, we carried stickers that carried a simple yet powerful statement, “Slow Yourself Down”.
We saw people from all over the world resontating with the message and from there, Slow Yourself Down was born.
It was during this time that the documentary Given was filmed.
In 2013, we bought a shave ice truck in Hanalei and went to work.
It was a commitment that was new to us, as we’d been professional athletes for what seemed like ever but we quickly realized we loved it.
We also thought,“lets make a few Slow Your Self Down shirts and see if they sell.”They did sell and from there we built a little store-front off the back of the truck and started spreading the message to slow down to the visitors that came through the little town of Hanalei.
A couple years later we welcomed our third child and a new location for our brand that happened to be directly behind our Wishing Well Shave Ice truck.
We embraced our love for the planet and sustainability by seeking out manufacturers that used ethically sourced materials.
This spot also gave a home to Aarozz's, Aamion's Dad, incredible tie dye creations. It also gave Aave, Aamion's mother, a place for her cut & sew silk dresses which is still the only place on the island you can buy these beautiful garments.
We hear over and over again, how the home store in Hanalei, has a “feeling” or “vibe” about that is unmatched to anywhere.
As time went on the compound grew...
With our Wishing Well Coffee & Tea house opening a hand full of yards behind the Slow Yourself Down store, it has become a place visitors and locals seek out daily.
We call our home store, the cream in the middle where people can fill up their water jugs for free and browse the unexplainably soft and artistic threads of Slow Yourself Down.
