Mor, who once worked in the Wishing Well Shave Ice truck, found her way back into our orbit after stopping by the shop one day and talking with our store manager Jennifer. As the conversation unfolded, it became clear this wasn’t accidental . 

At the time, we were searching for a new candle maker. We hadn’t yet found something that felt aligned with the heart of our space. At the same time, Mor was stepping deeper into her own candle-making journey. A casual conversation became so much more.

Mor describes her candles as more than scent. She says:

“We believe that a candle should be more than just a scent. It should be a sensory experience, a piece of art, and a gentle reminder to slow down and reconnect with nature.”

That intention immediately resonated with us.

We knew these were the candles we wanted to bring into the shop because they feel like an extension of what we already believe in: slowing down, and noticing beauty in the everyday.

Our Slow Yourself Down team had the opportunity to sit with Mor and smell over 100 scents! Thankfully we had lots of coffee beans on hand from Wishing Well Coffee to help clear our palettes between sniffs.

We hand selected the four you see offered based on memories that each triggered - reminding us of a place or feeling tied to Hanalei. Mor hand drew each of the labels adorning the candles to capture exactly what the scent made us feel.

It was and is co-creation at its finest, leaving us with an end product that is not only impactful but powerful! The end result is exactly what we had hoped and proof that when your heart is aligned, the universe will provide!
