Aamion grew up in Hā‘ena, Kauaʻi, on the North Shore, where the beach and ocean were part of daily life. He began surfing at about age 10, and as he matured, developed a style grounded in flow, rhythm, and connection to the waves. Over time he rose into the professional surf world, earning recognition especially for his performances at Pipeline and in the ocean environments of Hawaiʻi.
Aamion has always been drawn to a life of exploration and connection with nature. Growing up on the island of Kaua'i and Fiji, his upbringing was rooted in the land and sea, where the values of simplicity, mindfulness, and respect for the environment were deeply ingrained in him. These early experiences fostered a passion for living authentically, which ultimately led to the creation of Slow Yourself Down, a brand that embodies the ethos of intentional living and sustainability.
