Daize has a deep connection to the ocean and nature that has influenced every aspect of her life. Born in Ukiah, California, Daize moved with her family to Hawaiʻi when she was six months old, and was raised in Waimānalo, Oahu. Growing up in Hawai'i, Daize’s love for surfing blossomed at a young age, eventually leading her to become a two-time world longboard champion.

In her younger years, Daize grew up alongside the dark underbelly of Hawai'i. She describes a moment of crisis during which she “broke” emotionally, crying out for help and turning to faith for a radical change. Through this transformative period, she embraced a spiritual path and now often speaks about living with purpose, integrity, and surrender to a higher calling. 

Her passion for the water and respect for the environment have shaped her approach to life and business, driving her commitment to sustainability and conscious living. With Slow Yourself Down, Daize seeks to share the values of simplicity and mindfulness that have been integral to her journey.
